Ok, Im going to be perfectly honest here. I dont often buy candles. I love getting them as gifts, but purchasing one for myself happens rarely. Lets face it, there are usually a dozen other necessities I deem more pressing than a fragrant luxury. Thus, when I have broken down to buy a candle for "ambiance" its typically one I find in Target on the back clearance sale rack in the Homegoods.

There's a reason they're on Clearance.

...no one else wants them.

...they dont smell that good.

Let me preface this by saying, I am all for shopping clearance and sales. But, Im afraid Village Candle has permanently ruined me! They sent me the same two candles for review that we are giving away today.

Sadly, Target Vanilla Bean is no longer going to do it for me!

Its kinda like comparing Hershey kisses and Godiva chocolates. A Hershey kiss is great....until you've had 'the real thing'. I am now a "believer". I was immediately impressed that Village Candle had such a natural (non-synthetic) smell. The aroma of pine lingering in my home is just lovely!

I have so thoroughly enjoyed lighting my Christmas Tree candle and sitting by my twinkling evergreen. The fresh earthy scent of a Christmas tree-farm is wafting through my home. We had guests last night who actually commented on how nice our tree smelled. :)

And the Gingerbread Cookie candle; Im always a sucker for sweets! Fire this baby up and Ill be inspired to bake up a storm. Simply spiced, its like dessert in a jar! These burn clean and last longer than cheaper candles too. You're paying for quality.

Somebody please tell my honey that the following scents would be a lovely addition to my stocking this year. Better yet, just sign me up for the Scent of the Month club! (hey guys, now there's an original stocking stuffer for your sweetie!)

Yes, candles are a splurge. But as my mom always used to say, "If you only have enough money for two loaves of bread; buy one and buy some flowers with whats left". The moral: Beauty feeds the soul. In this case and in my humble opinion, Village Candle is going to be a worthwhile investment for your physical and mental wellbeing. Treat yourself a little!
